Business Development Associate
Joseph graduated from Brown University in May 2019 with a major in Sociology. Within sociology, Joseph is most interested in social theory and cultural / economic sociology (his favorite theorist is Pierre Bourdieu). Today, Joseph is with the Private Equity Group at Ares Management, based in Los Angeles, CA, where he helps evaluate investment opportunities ranging from distressed / stressed assets to corporate acquisitions. Outside of work, Joseph helps lead EdMobilizer, a non-profit organization aspiring to increase post-secondary opportunities for first-generation, low-income, and/or undocumented students through tackling systemic barriers, changing policy and building coalitions for change. As part of Joseph’s work with EdMobilizer, he also helps organize the annual 1vyG conference, which brings together 300+ FGLI students in an effort to build community and mobilize. Joseph is a proud graduate of the Sidney E. Frank Scholarship program at Brown.
Joseph joined Rise First to continue his work with the FGLI community. He’s excited to leverage his experiences with EdMobilizer to help ideate and develop strategic partnerships.
